Hey Nfinity, stupid guy...all Blu-ray Users can get the regionfree code Blu-ray "Beowulf" from 3/14/08 on in Germany, because Warner is the distributor here, not Paramount :-P. Yes, that´s it. Amazon.de is selling that title from Warner, which is HD DVD exclusive in America, in Germany with an English Dolby True HD 5.1 audiotrack ... so Blu-ray guys, start to pre-order at Amazon.de in Germany :)
Hey Eric, great news for you! Distributor of Beowulf in Germany is Warner. They made the announcement, that Beowulf will be published on March,14th. Warner Blu-rays are codefree, so you can watch them also in the States. In Germany Beowulf is called "The Legend of Beowulf" and will have this audiotrack: English Dolby True HD 5.1, so check it on www.amazon.de (buy) or at www.bluray-disc.de (info)
@Mike How much Universal and Paramount get from BDA? What do you think for future and what will be economic? Are you going to buy a HD-player from a camp, that releases 1 of 4 Movies exclusively or will you buy one from that camp which releases 3 of 4 exclusively? HD DVD ist dead!
@ Bill and Nfinity You belong to those people, who just buy new technology because of a cheap price from a discounter. All those crazy Americans go to Wal-Mart and they are happy to have bought a HD-Player from Toshiba for 99 $ some weeks ago - LOL. What about technical development and superiority of Blu-Ray, Sale of both formats outside the US, movies being released soon in both formats, film studios that release in just one format? You can´t discuss these facts away. Me and lots of other Europeans or Japans or Australians look at these facts and it´s no wonder, that Blu-Ray controls the sales here by 3:1 in Europe and much more in Japan and Australia. Do you think Warner ist just looking at the market in US??? We will see what will happen in future but one thing you can´t discuss away is: Blu-Ray is much better set-up for the future!
Well, you American Guys. Don´t just look at the sales in U.S. Watch the whole world for clear stats. In Europe Blu-Ray wins 3:1, in Australia and Japan Blu-Ray has over 90% of the whole market...that´s the truth! I guess Warner will go blu in 2008 and i hope this will stop that damn format war and blow out all HD-DVDlers...
