The only thing fresher than these kicks is the headline for this article. You guys crack me up.
i agree with @ClarkyAC
I won an x-box at the frog design employee Christmas party once, but I got there five minutes after they drew my name so they gave it to someone else. The kicker is that I was outside waiting for my wife to finish putting on her lip gloss! Sux!
yeah, quality hd content like wfn! I guess quality is in the eye of the beholder. I would take GalleryHD, RAVE, World Sports & equator over wfn anyday. Granted, you make a good point about making room for quality or national HD content, but clearly some of these channels were just filler.
DISH has really made some huge mistakes lately. As I customer I feel a bit like they have insulted my intelligence and tried to pull the wool over our eyes to a certain extent.

I say just come right out and tell customers there will be some changes coming in the next few weeks and months. We will be adding and removing some channels from the HD lineup.

Instead they chose to say that we were getting 22 new HD channels. Which isnt a lie, but just not the whole truth. I don't need an additional channel to boast about these 22 new channels and not tell me the channels that I lost. It is a poor strategy and I find it insulting.

Tell me the truth. Tell me what changes are being made. When am I going to get some new HD channels with good HD content? What if any channels am I losing and why? Company's screw this up all the time. Instead of leveling with customers they think, "Let's just spin the good stuff and maybe they won't notice." Bad idea any day of the week.
ummmmmm.....why in the hell did we lose worldsport to wfn? I would rather watch golf than some red neck baiting a hook. seems like most of the "new" hd content isnt full HD anyway...most programming i've seen is 3:4. WTF?
Agreed. I mean c'mon. It's a little late to be announcing that you are going exclusively BD if the competition has quit the game. Now if they announce that they are going to continue to sell HD DVD or even switch to it exclusively....now that would be news worthy. Idiotic, but news worthy nonetheless.
Keith in Austin here. Thanks for all the input. I can see that it is pretty evenly divided. For those whom are wondering, I decided to go with Dish. I am sure I would have been happy either way. Seems like both have their pros and cons. I just hope we start seeing those new HD channels they teased us about coming soon. I too am a SCIFI Channel fan. Battlestar Galactica in HD...c'mon.

On another note, Anyone esle think OTA HD looks better than satellite HD?
I have the Kuro PDP-5080HD in my living room, which has a full wall of windows and gets the morning and midday sun. I watch TV with the lights on and with all the shades open often and I have had no problem with glare whatsoever. No buyers remorse here.

I love my pio but I think most HDTV owners will be happy with whatever they purchase...unless its a phillips.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
