Dont you people get it??
The BDA DOES NOT WANT CHEAP HARDWARE!!!
The plan always has been for PS3 to crush HD DVD so the BR CE companies can have a very profitable monopoly.
What i cant understand is why all you BR muppets support the format, the BR consortium is all about maximising profits, yet the blu zealots are doing everything they can to wipe out the oppositin that is giving them bogos and discounts! You BR lot are crazy.
My guess is though is it's to late for BR now, 2007 was the year they should have put HD DVD to the sword (as sony promised the CE partners they would). All i see now is BR's lead diminishing as, as Neilsens are now starting to show, and as cheap HD DVD hardware takes over the mass market, BR is going the way of beta.
HD DVD has a long term strategy for market domination via cheap hardware from China to the masses, eg DVD, which is now starting to happen.

BR had a short term plan, PS3 destroys HD DVD in 12-18 months, BR consortium then gets fat on the slow niche market monopoly, probably with the PS3 dropping BR, or certainly making it an option, for sony to then concentrate on the video games battle it is currently getting flogged in.

Somehow though, the blu bots are scremaing for HD DVDs death and the rise of everything blu. Why?????????
Why you would want a monoply like that to control your HD media, a consortium that only wants one thing, huge profits at your expense from a niche market, it just does not make any sense.
HD media is virtually non exsistant here in Aus. Often read some clowns saying how blu ray is so dominant here. It is i suppose, it has about 90% of about .0005% market share, so if that's market dominance, hooray for blu ray.
This article means zip, the photographer would be one of about 3 fanboys nationwide.
Where is H4 and the fool BBG now?
I cant see the gloating now, HD DVD is dead, why are millions of people buying a dead format, BR is sooooo much better, bla, bla, bla.
For a dead format, this is a huge end of year result and a warning for all BD supporters, the tide is turning and this war WILL be decided by cheap stand alone players, bring on Q1 2008!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
