I dug the Japanese version that released for the PS3...but I don't speak Japaneses so reading the text was just not going to happen. Good thing the voice acting was in English. That demo was quite a surprise for me. I didn't expect to actually like it after being staunch against a DMC rehash. I think this game will get my dough and I will DEFINITELY be playing the US demo next week.
Not everybody has a dysfunctional family like yours :P
Not to laugh at that but, lol, cuz I was thinking the same thing, initially. Then again, being a person who works in "Corporate America", I know the stress that can be put on a person and the demands of a career can take it's toll on you from multiple angles. She may have just been overwhelmed and probably has MUCH bank so she said the hell with it. I wish I could do the same. I envy anyone who can just hangup their career and be completely fine, financially....then again, there is always the lottery! Ha...
No words. Just no words....
I think Unchartered 2 deserves GOTY and it WILL get that, almost across the board of ALL yearly gaming awards whether it's the VGAs, Joystiq's, or whoever elses yearly awards. It truly deserves it. Riveting....

...but so is MW2 yet the story is disjointed and it's not a very well held together game. I have yet to play online with it and I know that's it's bread and butter but I honestly can't see another same ole, same ole "online bread and butter" game winning GOTY. I think people thinking MW2 are not thinking of the game as a whole and are mostly dialed into how much fun they have playing online and the thrills of the short and disjointed story...although it IS a very thrilling ride.

I checked that out during my last go round in AC2 and didn't really get the purpose. Hopefully it will be very useful to expanding an already hot game, imo. Loving it and I can't put it down...except to do things like get on the internet and eat and take a leak and, and, and...I'm about to get back on this game, in a minute.
As a PS3 only owner, I am actually interested in this game. I don't want a 360 because of it but the game just looks interesting.
I think I will pick this one up after much hesitation. Never owned a CoD game but I was interested in MW1. I plan to get that, too, sooner or later.
Nice stab at Madden. Not called for since Madden is a yearly sports game and has actually tried to introduce a bunch of new things over the years instead of fixing the core game play issues. At least with Madden 10 they tried to address them more so than any year, ever. Stop being such a Madden hater, Joystiq.

Now, of course we definitely need original IPs. It's a no brainer but this needs to be whacked over the head of Japanese devs more than anyone else. They stay stuck in the past and can't seem to use their creative minds to venture outside of the box. That's why Japanese devved games are hurting. Same ole, tired, formulaic games can't really cut it anymore.

Outside of Japanese devs, the industry is good with new, refreshing and original IPs and the future is bright as long as costs don't get out of hand especially in these tough economic times.
Wow. Watching that vid really makes me wanna pop GTA IV back in my PS3. The only thing is, my important game data is saved on my 320GB HDD which I had to take out before sending my PS3 in to be eventually replaced. This external HDD enclosure I bought to try to pull my data off it is trying to force me to format the drive, first, before I can use it, which defeats the purpose.

Anyway, GTA IV is a masterpiece to me and it had me mesmerized when first playing through it. A part of it was because the attention to detail was impeccable plus I'm originally from Queens but have been all over the 5 boroughs so seeing all the landmarks and driving through bridges was like WHOA for me. I thought I was actually in NY when playing that game. I started my second go round a long time ago and would like to pickup where I left off but for shits and giggles, I'll just pop the game in even without being able to load my saved data. Can't wait for part V...or, hopefully, the DLC disc for the PS3 if the 360 exclusive isn't permanent.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
