I've told my Dad on no fewer than 3 separate occasions that his ginormous aerial antenna is going to be a relic come winter. Does he care? Nope.

actually, your dad will be a power Digi tv user with his ginormous aerial antenna. As long as its steerable, it will work perfectly for OTA digital tv broadcast, he most likely will be able to pick up way way way more stations than before and from markets further away.....Digit broadcast reception uses the same tech as current, mainly UHF, but also some VHF. If he doesnt have a digital tv he will need a set top box however.
The company I work for gave away door prizes at its Xmas party last year w/a 36" HDTV being the biggy. Everyone who won something found the item prices lumped into their next paychecks with friendly reminders about making sure they pay their taxes! first time the company has ever done this. The layoffs and constant limbo between contracts is one thing but jeesh how friggin cheap can you be?
The 19th Market in the country is dealing with this as well, Central Florida Brighthouse is on the verge of losing the local CBS affiliate 2 days before the NCAA tourney starts, which would affect roughly 850,000 people. I believe it is events like this that are part of the reason The SATS are doing better of late and hiring more CSR's, as well of course the ridiculously low amount of HD offerings available to Cable customers. Churn anyone?
too bad TBS HD is not High Definition, it is that Crappy Terranex stretch that Turner invented, belongs right up their with The great idea they had of colorizing B&W Films

"When is the last time you read about a car on bricks with it's wheels gone? 1987?"

if you were in orlando this morning, I could show you three of them in this apartment complex alone.....
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
