Is this going to work with the PS3 is being able to turn it on when shut off? The problem with bluetooth dongles is that the usb ports are activated only after the PS3 is turned on, so you can't turn it on using it. I get the idea that this thing will work the same, making it pointless. The Nyko bluetooth dongle/remote works fine with the PS3 and has all the commands in the Logitech Harmony database so it's easy to set up. In any case, this thing is useless because the "PS" button still will not be available with any remote, so you'll have to shut down with the controller or bluetooth remote.

Oh stop all your b*tching about DTS-HD MA everyone. I doubt that almost any of you fanboys have decent enough audio systems to even distinguish DTS-HD MA from the DTS Core that your PS3 extracts now. And stop the whining about internal decoding versus bitstreaming and external decoding. There is no difference in audio quality when TrueHD (or DTS-HD MA) is internally decoded and sent over HDMI as LPCM. The day that the PS3 gets internal DTS-HD MA is the day that it becomes the complete blu-ray player.

Even I agree that these flurry of "HD DUD is dead" posts is going a bit overboard. Like, geez, even format war central doesn't have half the rehash articles that this site does.

Actually, I was dual-format for a period of about two months. Believe it or not, I did my (tiny, miniscule) part to help HD DUD in their doomed quest for HDM supremacy. I even bought a HD DUD movie! It was in my collection for about a month before it was sold, along with my player and five free HD DUDs, on ebay the week after the Warner announcement. I am truly glad that blu won, though, because I don't give a crap for stupid extras like PiP and "interactivity" and blu has the capacity and bandwidth for at least theoretically superior (or at least, longer) video and audio quality. Sorry, not interested in all those Dolby Digital Plus soundtracks that Universal was putting on 80% (yeah, that was pulled out of my @$$) of their HD DUDs, including Shrek (the Turd) and Transformers. And the anti-scratch coating will make the frustration of renting sandpapered discs from Blockbuster and Netflix a thing of the past. In any case, even if the two formats are nearly the same, at least the one that was marginally better won. It'll be interesting to see how fast the traffic on EngadgetHD drops following the official announcement from Toshiba... ;)

How dumb. Idiots who cancelled their netflix accounts. Where are they going to rent from now? Blockbuster? They already kicked HD DVD in the nutz a year ago when they decided blu was the future, not red. Akin to cutting off your right hand to spite your left hand. And they need somewhere to rent their SD DVDs from.

HD DVD fans are just p*ssed off because they can't easily afford, if at all, to buy an expensive blu-ray player the way that blu-ray owners could easily go dual-format. Sorry chumps, but don't blame blu-ray for your lack of ambition and ability.

When Amazon runs out of their stock of an item, third party sellers, like Target, become the primary shipping option for that item. When it comes back in stock, Amazon will be the primary purchasing option again. However, it's not likely that the 360 add-on is coming back in stock. Obviously, Amazon is trying to dump their stock of HD DVD players, including the 360 add-on. Anyone trying to convince the average non-techie person that buying into HD DVD at this point (e.g. 70% of movies coming out are blu-ray exclusive) is being disingenuous and spiteful.
