Farewell, HD DUD, farewell... and good f***ing riddance!
Guys, please don't be anti-consumer like $ony, and support HD DVD, Toshiba, and MS (note: no '$' in MS)! I think with big summer flicks coming out this year, like maybe Transformers 2 and Shrek the Fourth, HD DVD might be able to not only 'come back,' but actually kick $ony in its blu nut sack. We all know that HD DVD is the superior format, or at least, not the worst format. I think blu-ray is the worst because it can't support Dolby Digital Plus which I heard is the reason behind the 'reference quality' audio that Transformers had. Blu-ray is for richy rich snobs like yuppies who shop at the Banana Republic and drink fancy coffee drinks at Seattle's Best, but HD DVD is for the regular 'Joe Schmoe' like a lot of us out there and even though my A2 only supports 1080i video I heard that 1080i is just as good as 1080p because something called "deinterlacing" can be done by your HDTV and I guess you still get all of the 'high rez' of the 1080 pixels. Something like that. Bottom line guys, is that $ony is EVIL and I will never buy one of their yuppified products that are ANTI-CONSUMER and ANTI-JOE 6-PACK and we can't let HD DVD die because Bill Gates has always supported the consumer and free enterprise and has encouraged the development of competing products that helps out consumers like me and you! Thanks a lot for listening to my crazy rant, but I just want you guys to know that, together, WE CAN DO IT!
Hey Jody, I am really really DISTURBED by these recent turn of events too! I hate Sony although maybe that's too strong after all I've been raised as a Christian and I don't think Jesus would hate Sony although maybe he would if he were a HD DVD fan like me and Jody. I think that we need to keep the support strong for Toshiba and Microsoft, because they are pro-consumer, they support the "little guys" like me and Jody, not trying to crush us under their stinky Betamax/Minidisc/Super Audio CD feet like Sony is trying to do. I also want us to support HD DVD because I want us to buy American, you know guys even though I am only a Cannuck, I want to buy American products whenever I can b/c I really respect those guys for giving us the high resolution and definition (tho I'm not sure if they are the same?) pictures and videos. But boo-ray doesn't have the reference quality Dolby Digital Plus that HD DVD has, like on Transformers. Guys, please don't be richy rich snobs and give HD DVD a chance. I'm going to Walmart right now to buy another HD DVD to watch tonight, but I don't know which Harry Potter to get cuz they are all so good!
Hey guys, please give HD DVD another shot. I don't think it's a big deal having a few more "gigas" of memory or storage space on HD DVD when you can have reference quality audio like Dolby Digital Plus. From what I've heard and read on the web, boo-ray actually only has regular Dolby Digital and not the "plus" variety and that's why it doesn't have reference quality audio like HD DVD does on Transformers and Shrek the Third. Those two movies were the two biggest blockbusters in the world last summer and after Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, it was my fav flicks of the year. Harry Potter is the best of course! I'm gonna buy all five of them on HD DVD and I hope that Warner will switch back to neutrality so that we can get the complete set on HD DVD, which is at least as good as boo-ray. Maybe even better! Guys, be open minded like me and support HD DVD, thanks!
Guys, Warner is going to change their decision to only make boo-rays. We gotta buy more HD DVDs like planet earth. I already got one copy, and I'm planning to buy another HD DVD later this month. C'mon guys, HD DVD is good for us consumers, cuz we aren't all richy rich snobs like boo-ray fanboys. I bought the $100 A2 and I love it guys. It is really sharp in terms of resolution and I think it's got all the 1080 pixels. Or is it 1920 pixels? I wuz always confused bout that. NE wayz... guys, please buy HD DVDs cuz HD DVD will be back if we can persuade Warner that HD DVD is the superior format. And I think we can win the Nielson sales week sometime in the next few months. Thanks guys! HD DVD forever! Boo for boo-ray!
I still think HD DVD is the superior format. And that it will still beat blu-ray. HD DVD is the best cuz it has PiP. PiP is really cool. It also has cool interactivity features. That's how I found out what brand sneakers Harry Potter wears in Order of the Phoenix, which btw, is the best movie I ever saw. I know you guys think I'm crazy, but I think HD DVD is gonna win in the end. I read lots of informative and factual articles by posters like nfinity and truth teller. I believe the facts that they told everyone on this board. Please guys, reread those posts and reconsider your decision about blu-ray being superior to HD DVD. Go HD DVD!
Can't understand why Warner would choose blu-ray over the clearly superior HD DVD. I thought they would care about interactivity and PiP. Oops. Guess not.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
