By technicality, Hitachi's 1.5" is a hd monitor, not a full tv. It only has 1 hdmi, 1 vga as its connections, no tuner.

I think most people looked at the girl more than the tv.
HDlite = lower resolution. Directv through their compression system, lowers a 1920 x 1080i resolution to 1280 x 720i or something similar to that. People complain because you get more pixelation etc etc.
Once everything settles down and 1 format is determined, funai or even smaller brands will be cranking out those cheap blu-ray players. It's only a matter of time.

People keep saying this is bad for the consumer or sticking it to the consumer, how about we look at it this way:

There are MORE consumers waiting on the sidelines to see who wins than there are people that bought into the format or purchased it over Christmas. PLUS Warner already said this holiday season will determine the direction they will go.

WHAT is really helping the consumer is having only 1 format, I honestly do not care who wins and who loses, but I just want 1 format, and so do A LOT of consumers out there. With 1 format, THAT is being consumer friendly, stop confusing the people.

Some of you complain about price, there's an easy solution to that, the generic brands or smaller brands. People will come out with cheaper blu-ray players just like they did for dvd players. Those will give pressure on the prices for them to drop.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
