So does this fix the bad frame rates of 720p video?
So wait, HDMI automotive has nothing to do with cars and is just supposed to mean mobile?
After this whole digital switch, they would have to be crazy to tell people they just decided to scrap OTA TV all together.
Soooo if I don't have the internet my computer does nothing?
Uncompressed 1080p/60hz wirelessly, sign me up! I hate having to move my laptop over to the TV and connecting cables. When this takes off it is really going to cut into Monsters cable business, $100 says that start selling wireless air purifiers that takes out an rouge electrons in the air and provides a cleaner path or something.
I was thinking the same thing, this would be so cool if apps started to support control pads like this. You could also have other manufactures design competing pads as long as they had the same basic support, maybe they could drop the analog sticks to make them smaller but then people would have to understand they wouldn't be able to play some games as easily.
Intel trying to push lightpeak? If it comes out in early 2010 and is truly better then USB 3.0 then I won't be that upset.
Ummm anyone else remember all the shitty 'CD' console games that came out originally? This is going to be balls to play.
Funny thing is while I find the Insignia players pretty bad they are much more reliable then the horrible Samsung BDP-1600, I used to work at Best Buy and we had those die all the time. I never shut the Insignia player off and it was working for over a year 24/7, I was shocked. Of course it could have just been that one model but I had a lot of 1600s die.

If they had the WiFi one for $100 I would jump the gun to get one.
This is pretty damn tempting for $99 with WiFi, I have plenty of 720p movies that would play great on this and I hate the idea of having an external HDD on a device like the WD. I want something clean. Basically it comes out to about $200 w/ a 500GB HDD, anyone else have any other better suggestions?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
