lol @ "real football". pfft.

Combine this with the glassless 3D and we've got something.
lulz, so... what happens when it goes past 80 again? *snore*.
No seriously, it's finished by Christmas. The downward trend is inevitable.
WOW fantastic, 26%, the war is over, HD DVD is crowned king. *snore*. Call me in a few months when Warner doesn't even release on the format and one or two of the "other's" are neutral.

Christmas '08 it's over, the rest is just watching the paint dry.
Considering the average joe will be able to afford either format within the next 12 months, it comes down to content. I'll bet you money that Paramount and Universal will be format neutral by Christmas.
In the end they're businesses, and any smart business will want a piece of the rapidly increasing BD pie.
They use these boxes like VHS recorders, they play content as well as record. It's the lions share of the market over there.
Frankly I'll make better use out of my SkyHD with dual DVR's, pay per view for movies and a Blu-ray player for watching the things I really want to watch with top quality sound and picture.

hmm, I suppose I can see a handful of situations where it would be good, for example watching with friends and you want to see a new release but can't be arsed to go to the store to buy or rent or you don't want to order online... oh and assuming the release isn't playing on the HD movie channels.
Otherwise it's a small step over DVD for anything other than watching paint dry. (i.e. motion artifacts due to bandwidth starvation)
John, if you read the above four posts, I'll think you'll find that it's you that's got emotional over this.
Enjoy your movies!

"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
