I thought his break out "full fledged movie star" role was in "The 40 year old virgin."
I loved that movie - way more than the original. It was truer to the source material, for starters.
Comparing anything Gervais has done with "Year One" is asinine. If you don't get the joke, that's different. There are a lot of other comedies out there for your viewing pleasure.

That being said, I see the movie like a parable told from an atheist's perspective as opposed to being blatantly anti-religious. It's supposed to make you think and question things.
Interesting, so not even accounting for those (stupid, stupid) DirecTV commercials she is big money.
When Carrie tried to set the two of them up in the series' run, Anthony blew Stanford off. Did I miss something in the (albeit totally forgettable) movie where they get together?
I loved the movie and I loved Ricky in it. Great, great, great.
The character Gervais plays said he had had a crush on her for 15 years and that she was the sweetest, kindest person he had ever met.
You are way off on this one. Gervais handles this part incredibly. I was really stunned at his abilities this time. Way better than he did in Ghost Town.
I don't know if a movie is a good idea anymore. The show hasn't held up as well as other big 90s hits (specifically, Seinfeld) and I think that its popularity is waning.
This list showed up on Fark a few days ago and got eaten alive (deservedly so). Horrible.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
