This install breaks the resolutions for the Mac Mini 2007 model...

And looking at Apple discussions, this seems to have happened to everyone.. After the update, you can't use your monitor's native resolution without an app like SwithResX..

I can't believe Apple were so damn lazy that they didn't even bother trying out the update on their what... 10 products before launching it!?!

It may be a minor issue, but it still shouldn't happen...
You know it actually isn't THAT expensive when you think about it..........

Yeah, its 13.99 for a single disc, but think of it as 60gigs of space on the smallest "movable hard drive" available in the market...........

But yeah, it can only get cheaper from here ;)
I've been using the betas for XBMC for MAC OS X for months now.. Its absolutely amazing, and with some fine tuning and skinning, it works to perfection, and looks really really elegant...

The best media centre app i've used so far, and the minor bugs it has aren't even noticeable, and never hinder the movie viewing experience...

By the way though, OSXBMC has now been renamed to PLEX....

It sounds great and all, but it'll only be worth it once we find out how heavy this monster is... I doubt its going to be anything close to "lap-friendly"....
Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the 9x00 the "next generation" of nVidia chips, making the 8x00 technically "last gen"...? so, really, nVidia's statement wouldn't be wrong.....

Still, there are many laptops that still use those chips, so nVidia better sort out this problem, even if it only affects a few...
The design looks really nice.. You know, this would actually have been a lot cooler if this were a phone - it'd be a really interesting concept, given that its managed to cram numpad like buttons on it.
Oh and this crappy little thing will?

I'm not a MAC fanboy by a longshot, but even I can say that the Mac Mini is the most powerful ultra-small form factor PC around..

Faster processors, double the RAM, and bundled with an OS that costs money rather than free...
lol exactly, it isn't that much of a gaming machine, although the X3100 isn't THAT bad.. Its certainly the best offering from Intel in terms of on-board chips, and with 2GB of RAM, there's loads of games it can play handsomely..

I'd use a Crack for games that would require CDs.. Cracks are legal if you own the game, so this would be the perfect time to use them lol.

This remote feature is nothing new here, except its boot from remote disc feature, which is an intelligent addition, especially for idiots who probably didn't even know OS X already did it..

I wonder now though, does this mean we could mount Blu Ray disks in Blu Ray drives and have it "remote disked" to the MBA then? That would be jawesome! Obviously videos wouldn't work, but data Blu-Ray disks would be very useful if readable..
Grrr, what's with all the hating!? I think its an AWESOME service..

24 hours is only fair to be honest.. They give you 30 damn days to watch the thing, and then unless you're sad, you usually only watch it once, if you like it, you buy it.. Simple as.

I'm in Europe, and sure i'm a little annoyed that we don't get it at the same time, but this isn't Apple's fault.. They only provide the service, but there are a ton of rules, regulations and restrictions that they have little influence over. We're lucky to get the thing this year itself! Remember Xbox 360's service? That took time to get here as well, and the catalog is still pants in comparison..
Actually i just realised you download while you watch, so I guess Ryan has a point then for slow users lol
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
