So I read the link. Seems "launch" is a bit misleading. By "launch" he actually meant "The device was stable enough for a demo. It went hours without crashing." [direct quote]

Yeah but this was scheduled for a November release. Past tense, as in, last week sometime. The "gee guys what's the cost of an touch panel" bit should have been settled, oh I dunno, sometime in 2008.

Sounds to me like this thing never got past the prototype stage, and I'm beginning to wonder if even that was smoke and mirrors.

"CrunchPad was ready to be launched on November 20, but on November 17 Fusion Garage decided to cut TechCrunch out of the deal and sell it directly"

It's December 1st, so what's up?
@Nitesh

Only you swallow nVidia's spinning. nVidia cut down an existing graphics chip (9400M) to work with the Atom CPU, then turned around and called it a "platform". Brilliant!
"In the high-stakes competitive environment in which Android competes, developers deserve to know that sponsoring organizations believe in the value of third-party applications that engage the user with appropriate user interfaces and offline functionality."

Ow. That sentence - like much of the article - is just painful to read. Bad author, no cookie.
on, off and ???
Isn't the extra price over the E-P1 mostly for the electronic viewfinder that's included?
Signs are it will be the fastest graphics card until ATI release a faster one.
That's... premature.

Similar things were said for Ubuntu. I'm not saying it's going to fail, Google =/ Canonical, but just because is Google doesn't automatically mean it will succeed.

Chrome browser : big win. Android : fairly big win. Google mail : so-so win. Google apps : seriously, anyone actually use that?
Gaudi is some ultra-cheapo brand of electronics not a fashion brand. I don't think they make much more than these "cell phone quality" video cams, so far I've only run into the normal looking ones thank God. The sell for about $100 or so and are are next to useless.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
