As I understood, the PS3 will likely never be able to output bitstream TrueHD or DTS MA due to the variant of HDMI 1.3 the unit has. We're stuck with internal decoding of the HD codecs and output over HDMI to a capable receiver.
I tend to agree with the other posters that DTS MA won't happen until the PS3 is priced towards the high end of standalone Blu-Ray players, not the low end.
