"The Sky Player on Xbox 360 service did successfully launch early this morning, it has subsequently been suspended due to an unforeseen technical issue"

I'd hardly count crashing horribly within a few hours a "successful" launch, why do they feel the need to come out with such BS?
Most TV's? What? Very few pre mid 2008 HDTV's have SD card slots. I highly doubt the majority that do have anywhere near the amount of CPU power required to support certain codec's either.

And telling me to grow up? That's rich coming from you.
Let's say this is what's going to replace optical which is great btw, some people won't be able to get high speed internet fast enough to get Blu-Ray like quality in the near future
Wait what? So now it's not blu-ray you support the reasoning behind keeping physical media in stores? Hypocritical much?
You realise that people who already own HDTV's without SD card slots would be required to buy some player of some kind? So tell me, other than the size how does this justify moving away from an already existing HD format (blu-ray).

Also, why are you even allowed back on this website (Nifinity)
In case people here don't already know, Bozster is just nifinity posting under yet another alias. It's been this guys mission in life since day one to post negative stuff about blu-ray and he's already been banned before here.
In the UK at least, PlayTV will never support HD broadcasts as it's only a DVB-T tuner and not a DVB-T2 tuner which ofcom intend to use for HD broadcasts.

This is a HARDWARE change and not a software change.
You are still wrong mark, the playTV is a DVB-T tuner, not a DVB-T2 tuner. It will not be able to support freeviewHD even if it wanted to. A hardware change is required, not a software one
""gimped"?"

He's probably referring to the fact that the extended version of the film is only on the DVD side and not the HD-DVD side. Hilarious.
Yeah, because the demand is so great at the moment, you know given that HD-DVD is outselling Blu-ray software.. oh wait, no it isn't.
All this means is that they may supply retailers with existing stock after May 31st. You clearly missed the part "However, Ronnee made it clear that the general rule is that titles will be out in SD and BD only after May 31st"

So say its a "victory" as much as you want, but the truth is going forward all of Warner's major new releases are still on BD and DVD only.

I really don't know why you two keep living in such a dreamworld, a dreamworld where HD-DVD still has a realistic chance.
@ Nfinity

You retard, the NPD results are always delayed. It takes time for them to collate the data properly.
@Nfinity/Boz
Nice to see your a complete tool here as well as on Neowin. Apparently, everything is a payoff according to you! Funny how whenever a BD rumour is posted you cry for sources and refuse to accept it, yet you will quite happily come out with such rubbish when it suits you. It's also hilarious to see how you proclaim it as "non-news" whereas yet again if it was the other way around you'd be running around laughing in blu-ray supporters faces that its the end.

Well done for noticing that it doesn't say that they are dropping HD-DVD altogether. However now they are going to push Blu-Ray more and more, expect them to slowly phase HD-DVD out in favour of more BD space. It won't happen straight away, but it will.
The best chance to get a buyer to purchase a HDM player has always been when the buyer picks up a HDTV. Now they have picked a side to support, they can finally start to confidently sell a format to HDTV buyers instead of confusing them with two, which ends up with them buying neither.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
