That was a good read. I'm glad Anand is contributing to engadget. In my opinion, he is the most insightful and interesting technology commentator out there.
I would pay $350 or so. Beyond that, it will become pretty difficult to justify.
Looks great - I hope it puts off less heat than the ATI tuners.
As long as the price isn't crazy, this should be a winner. It looks like the 6 tuner card won't be available at retail, but 4 tuners should be enough for just about anyone...

This is the FAQ mentioned:

Just curious - is this referring to the Anandtech blog post yesterday?

There really is no Yankee Stadium jet stream. They changed the design and depth of the walls in right/right center fields, leading to more home runs being hit.

Anyhow, I do hope they raise the screen at Cowboys Stadium. It's hard to believe that something that happened in the first preseason game at the stadium will never happen again, even if the Titans punter was trying to hit the screen, as the Cowboys owner and coach both claim.
Here's hoping you are right about the new AMD/ATI tuner. $300 for a multi-tuner-capable card, and I am in!
For the kitchen!
Thanks for the note (and the review)! The quality of the second video looked pretty good to me. Maybe it's time to go for it... but then again, a six-in-one tuner sure would be nice. Come on, Ceton.
Any comments on CableCARD Media Center performance when not using an extender? I'm currently running a Windows 7 RC HTPC but have yet to try to add in CableCARDs because I have heard some complain about weird/buggy video processing when not using an extender. I have a 360 I could use as an extender, but it seems silly (and unnecessarily noisy and heat generating) to do so when the HTPC is sitting right there. Either way, I'm on the fence about whether to take the plunge now or wait to see if the Next Big Thing in CableCARD tuner hardware is just around the corner...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
