This would be perfect considering I just ditched cable cause it cost too much.
This would be great to use, instead of that crummy Time Warner piece they call a dvr.
Dibbs! It'd be great for a box that is kind of hard to hit with my IR remote. No idea on how to fix the economy though, I'll keep thinking. More free stuff can't hurt though.
They added ESPNews HD, ESPN U HD, ABC Family HD, Disney HD, and Disney XD HD. I'm pretty sure they were released nationwide, but I might be mistaken. The new channels went live this past Thursday.
Let's hope that the ability to switch off the analog signals before June is available in the final bill. I'm sure a number of stations would love to save a good chunk of energy and money by turning off the analog transmitter. It'd be a great way to "go green" I'd say. That's the big push anymore isn't it, going green? Also, by delaying it, I think the government is saying that there is no need to change at all; we'll keep pushing it back and back and back until every single person is ready. The vast majority are ready now. The rest probably aren't going to change until they have to, and they will complain the whole way as well. People are going to blow the transition off even more now because the date they had been told for years, isn't true anymore so what's to say it won't have again. Before we know it, we'll be running two transmitters forever. Refunds for the lost spectrum we've already sold are going to be expensive.
Now I might be wrong, but even if the people applied for and were granted two coupons last week, would they not still get their coupons later than the transition date? It took my coupons two months to arrive. If the people waited this long to apply for the coupons, there was no hope they'd get their coupons in time. They have had more than a year to apply and waited until the last minute, so they should have to face the repurcussions. I feel the money for the coupons will come sooner or later, so these people will have to wait and if they need tv that badly, go buy a single box then get two more when your coupons arrive. To delay the transition would just create more confusion (like everyone else said) and I feel would lead to even more jaded people who will completely blow it off because the last date got bumped, so why won't the next deadline, and the next, and the next....
Voted for Other - Because I jumped in a heartbeat the moment U-Verse was available here. I was fed up with the constant Channel Not Available messages with Time Warner Cable and Switched digital Video.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
