Are you sure it isn't JUNE 2nd, not JULY 2nd. I think hurricane season start in June.
Actually the money to pay for the score board and the stadium upgrades will be provided by tax payers. This was voted on either last year or the year before. There was once talk to build a new stadium downtown, but the voters decided to update Kauffman Stadium (Royals) and Arrowhead (Chiefs) stadium. Yes the owners are contributing some money but this is mostly from taxpayer money. Also, this scoreboard update is just part 1 of many parts that will be updated.
Hey now. I think the Royals are slooooowwwwllly working their way back to the top. I am very excited to see this video board in action, but wasn't the Tokyo horse track the largest?

I can't WAIT!!! I am KC native and a Royals fan, as painfull as that can be, but at least I can see the score in HD.
I actually moved from a Time Warner Cable area to a Comcast area in March of this year, so I guess I am part of that statistic, by getting a digital cable with their crappy Motorola 6412 HD DVR. However, I finally was sick of their lack of HD channel offerings and now having Dish installed on Saturday. I was surprised they added ESPN2HD in time for the World Cup, but just reading about all of the HD channels Dish has and how it seems like they are really being agressive about adding new HD channels, Dish was pretty much and easy sell, when you compare it to Comcast.
Got it here in Kansas City!!! About time Comcast!!!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
