as far as anyone knows, are there any local markets in which directv/dish have a mpeg4 encoder embedded in the local channels broadcast site before the mpeg2 encoder?
while it is possible, i don't see a tv station even going for it myself
generally the sats either grab them off antenna, or grab them at the antennas where the feeds are sent already encoded
