Btw, this is Steve (engadget shut off the aim sign on so I used a different account), and yes, I am an avid Slingbox user.. just had to deal with many months of crap cause of HTC
There was a huge thing with HTC and Slingbox regarding the Mogul, Tilt and Touch (possibly more, but that's the ones I know of)... Basically they refused to release drivers to allow for directdraw to work reliably for the chip they used. Due to this, performance was sluggish all around, especially with Slingplayer. Luckily Sling finally came out with a new version of the Slingplayer that allows you to disable Directdraw to fix this issue, since HTC didn't do crap. I don't trust HTC at ALL after this.

I sooooo hope this doesn't reach the sales quota for Verizon so Sprint finally gets an exciting, non-HTC smartphone....
I got a new license in NY last month ago and I saw the choice there, saying there was a wait for it at the time...

I'm by NYC so it doesn't really matter for me personally, but if you live in Buffalo or Rochester area where Canada is so close.. this has got to be amazing... I wonder if its possible to live in the US and work in Canada?
Fios rocks, but the two negatives I can think of is that you have to pay large monthly fees if you have it on multiple tvs, so it can cost A LOT if you need it for more than 2 or 3 tvs.

Also, they don't have some of the packages like MLB Extra Innings or NHL Center Ice or any of those, so if you like any of those, you're kinda screwed with fios... but over all it's so much better than cable
In the article it says only the floodlights will go off, so it will still be on, just not very bright at night.. of course Times Square is always busiest at night and it would get the most views then.
Windows 3.1... that OS is what made the PC hit the mainstream.. way more than even Apple
ah, I got it... I didn't see the 50" was the plasma model, which are usually cheaper... that's what you get for commenting after only skimming an article =).
The 50" is over 1700.. $1899 I think.. but btw, B&H has the Samsung 50" 1080p for $1749... and I would think the high end Samsung model would be better than the Vizio, just based on reputation.

Why is the keyboard on the bottom and not the top? When you (or at least I) write anything with the keyboard on the bottom, your wrists are going to be on the keyboard keys the entire time... hopefully before this becomes a real product that change is made...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
