Hey! We don't take kindly to your types in here!
You said it... My single GPU 5870 is already a beast and it stacks up fairly well to the GTX 295 despite it only being a single GPU and now this just blows it out of the water. AMD has given Nvidia a serious run at the graphics card market.
Not really. RIM has big things in store next year. Possibly the Dakota/Magnum will be released as will RIM updating it's browser etc... It already bought that webkit company and has signed on with adobe for flash etc...

Besides, the Storm2 is more like Storm1.5

If you own a Storm, there's not much incentive to upgrade. Yes it has more memory, WiFi and tighter surepress typing but it doesn't justify the upgrade just yet.

I own the Bold 9000 and there's no way i'm getting the 9700 which increases memory and camera, but decreases size and has weaker speakers. Trackpad is nice though.
Before the heavy Apple lovers here at engadget chew me alive, I meant iphone. I wish there was an edit button on engadget.
He is being misquoted. He was implying that most modern cellphones are too complicated in the sense that it takes a new user a while to get anything about the device. He meant that calling someone meant you press the numbers and the dial button. Nowadays you have them hidden with sliders, buried with qwerty keyboards, touchscreen technology etc... How is some moron who has never seen an inphone in their life going to dial something if they cant get the virtual keyboard to display?

He was also implying that phones are becoming like "one phone to rule them all". Meaning they keep adding features that are supposed to reduce the redundancy in life but don't actually do it that well.

You can call someone but battery life becomes a problem in the day because the phone caters to other things, You have mp3 capabilities but not as good as an iPod etc... You can take pictures but they are nowhere as fast or as good as standalone cameras, you have internet browsing but it doesn't compare with a computer, etc.

Also, show the man respect. What have most of you done in your life that you can thumb your noses down at him? Thumbs down to engadget writers for misquoting the poor man.
Exactly... How about fixing the current HDTV broadcasts first. Almost all television is still broadcast at 720p/1080i and are heavily compressed on some channels. Another sad fact is that most "HD" channels still show SD content.

I mean first give me proper 1080p broadcast content. I don't even care for 3D yet which is a huge gimmick.
It's not just you guys, the speakers are weaker because there is only one external speaker where the Bold 9000 has three. The 9700 sounds worse than the curve 8900 as well. And though the screen is 480 x 360, it is only 2.44" while the Bold is 2.65" so you gain more pixels but lose some screen size.

I've found this is just too small. I held the dummy unit and it is the size of the curve 8900 which is too small for me.
They are... It's called the Dakota/Magnum and has been in development for a while now. It is the size of the Bold 9000 but is slightly slimmer. It uses a hybrid touch-screen and qwerty keyboard. It also is rumored to have a new flash-capable browser and a new camera with liquid lens technology.
Curious as to why they wouldn't keep calling it the "Droid"?? I mean I'm sure Lucasfilm had it trademarked in Europe as well. Only because "Droid" could/will become a somewhat big name phone.
"Hey! 259316! We don't take kindly to your types in here!"----- :)

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
