Uh, what's your basis for saying the deficit would go up with McCain considering, you know, he wasn't voted in? Besides, I'm not sure the "tax goes up = deficit goes down" argument holds water since it's Obama's own deficit.
I know WB blu-rays are region-free
Maybe the one on the right is the robot... Maybe... Hopefully...
With a Blackberry 8700, get ready for very low quality calls from prison.
A cellphone with a bad UI? Blasphemy!
I was really pulling for HD-DVD to win, but I guess Warner had to shoot its wad in trying to please customers and investors, and now HD-DVD has a bit of a mess on its hands.

And I totally agree with Juice that an integrated drive in an XBOX360 would've allowed for much better penetration into the market.
Cripes! Those look like missiles coming out her forearms!
I love the way the Pioneer 4270 plasma looks - although I think the UK 436RXE looks better with its rounded edges (hopefully that design cue will come across the pond). For me, you could wrap just about anything in a black piano gloss finish and I'll buy it. The room where I watch it in doesn't create any distracting reflections off the bezel, so the glossy goodness isn't a problem, at least for me. I find I'm generally pretty focused with what's going on the screen anyway, and besides, uncless you plan on shining a flashlight at the bezel, that problem with gloss finishes is overrated.
Bah! I'm with #1-3; it's just not a big enough jump in functionality (for me, at least). Yes, picture quality is better for HDTVs (how much of the general population has those?), and so is sound, but how much better can people hear?

The porn industry is going with Blu-ray, and if that's the way the winds are blowing, then let it not be said that I don't also blow!
@#4. From what I understand, the free one that comes on THX DVDs is more optimized for the movie, rather than the display in general, although if it still looks fine to you for everything else, enjoy!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
