Wrong - solid state isn't archival like tape - you have to empty them right away into your editing system.
(which is a pain in the middle of production.)

HDV is here to stay! The media(tapes) only cost $10 - $15!
But Canons aren't the best HDV anyway - They don't evn put LCD screens on their pro-cams cuz they're such poor quality!

Sony's are the only real choice.
