Best Buy just had a great 30% off all Blu-ray sale. I usually go amazon.com, but more and more you can catch 'em on sale at reasonable prices at Best Buy.
The Panasonic S and G Series plasmas are great for gaming. And with a $2000 budget, that will leave you plenty of room for a Home Theater in a Box or Soundbar.
Love how the picture is a Target display. I wouldn't have braved a Wal-Mart either.
I don't mind the glossy coating. I'd rather have great contrast and control the lighting of my room. I rarely get a chance to watch TV or movies during the day anyway.
This could potentially be the first BD Live feature that really interests me.
I work for Best Buy, and the problem is there are a lot of Samsung fanboys in the home theater departments. No one is on commission, but they're easy TVs to sell. I think its the bezels. I would say its form over function, but that's unfair: Samsung makes some pretty great TVs, both in LCD and Plasma.

Personally, I almost always recommend Panasonic Plasmas first, but some customers won't listen to you, even if its the better TV for their uses. They keep going back to a Samsung LCD. At that point, you just shake your head, sell them an overpriced HDMI cable, ring them up and move on to the next one.
Nice to see Managed Copy becoming a reality. Can't say that I can forsee myself using it, but it will be great for those who want a legal Movie Jukebox.
This is disappointing, for sure. I wanted the theatrical editions (and I'll probably buy the extended cuts later too...), andI was looking forward to this release. The only bright spot is it does free up about $70 for a very crowded November...
I'll pick up The Office.
I'm picking both up tomorrow. After the reviews, I was going to get Braveheart only, but Best Buy has them for 22.99 each with $10 off if you buy both. So you essentially get Gladiator for $13. If its really bad, I can sell it for about $10. Hopefully Paramount will do a new transfer and exchange program like Sony did for 5th Element.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
