THANK GOD! The only thing NBC would have done to Top Gear is ruined it.
The only possible host was Jay Leno and he was smart enough to realize that Top Gear would have been ruined if it had been brought to the US because it could never operate with the editorial freedom of the British version. On the BBC, the gang arefree to call a car a piece of crap when it's a piece of crap. With the automakers among the biggest advertisers on television a US version of the show would be forced to call a piece of crap car the best thing since sliced bread.
Anyone else think it's funny that one of the prizes doesn't exist anymore? The XBox HD DVD player is extinct along with HD-DVD.
The winner now has a head start on the next big contest for obsolete technology. He can put it next to my old Beta vcr and we can split the prize.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
