I too do not understand the logic of why a short expiration date on the coupons. We are told that we shouldn't wait because the government program may run out of funding and end at any time yet those of us who have received coupons have found that models are unavailble, lack features (like pass through analog) are in short supply and are expected to drop in price once they do become available. As we can see, this appears to be yet another poorly designed and adminstered goverment program.

As well, EchoStar reveals it problems as a company as it admits to a long delay in the distribution and sales of the TR-40. That is, how can months be required for EchoStar to figure out how to distribute it's products? And, the longer it takes EchoStar to figure out what it's doing, the fewer products EchoStart will sell, and the more disgruntled consumers, like me, will be with EchoStar.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
