April 1st Sharp release their LC32DB60U - 32" Aquos 1080p with a built in blu-ray player. No nonsense, $999 on Amazon.

I'd expect the current model (no blu-ray) LC32D64U to drop in price when that shows up, maybe you could grab a deal.
That's an easy question: NVIDIA's Ion Platform.
Dear Roku,

Just picked up a HD-A35 for $170 from Tiger. 9 Free movies (not all good) but now my HD-A2 becomes a backup unit.
HD-DVD has lost, lets see if Blu-Ray can win though, it's got a much bigger foe to fight yet: DVD.

HD-DVD & Blu-ray combined had less than 1% of the home video market, and while HD-DVD's pricing was on-par with DVD ($99 for a player, an Oppo Up-converting player costs that much!) Blu-Ray players are still out of average consumers price range.

I own a HD-DVD player, I basically got it for free. ($99, 7 free movies = free player.)
I won't be buying a Blu-ray player until it's under $200.

For now though, Cheap HD-DVD's FTW!
Warner keeps supporting both sides...

or do they...

I can't find anything in the article to suggest that in re-evaluating their support of both formats they were going to choose Blu-ray. In fact, if they're talking about hardware prices having reached a point where consumers "no longer wanted to decide" then I can only assume they're talking about HD-DVD and their sub $200 player. http://feeds.feedburner.com/%7Er/highdefdigesthddvdnews/%7E3/176734124/1116

If it's true that Warner Brothers Blu-Ray contract expires on October 31st (Xyzzy mentioned it above), then I suspect it'll actually go the other way. With Universal, Warner, and Paramount all supporting HD-DVD exclusively coupled with a cheap entry level player...

This is now Blu-ray's war to lose. This holiday season could get pretty exciting.
I hope retailers drop the price by the same amount, Amazon is selling the HD-A2 for $350 right now, another $100 price drop would make it a nice little way to spend $250.

I'd pay the extra $50 over the 360 addon for a proper Set-top.
This is a great use of the controller, and House of the Dead isn't a bad game either. Compare these videos to your experiences of Red Steel and I'm sure you'll agree it looks a lot more fun.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
