if they have/had (haven't checked specs) the ability to use this player as a D/A converter (USB port especially), they would have a huge winner.

one more thing...get a DVDO Edge for HDMI switch/scaling
keep it simple

buy a Pioneer Blu-ray DV09...use the really good DAC's in the player
buy an audyssey stand alone
buy a Parasound P7 analogue pre-amp (7 channel)

that is one very pure home theatre system

I love new apple announcement days. You get to hear the complaints. some creative and some just people who don't own them and don't understand the beauty of this computer.

I agree, it's still expensive and the Atom destops are very good value for basic workstations (web and word processing), but given that I still have every generation of Mac mini's useful at work, we are sold on this form factor. The long term costs is minimal and the energy saved I'm sure over the life has been significant (used to run PowerMac G4 towers in the office).

Most of the mini's have 20 and 24" dell LCD's and will easily transition to these newer models when needed.

I read the whole article and the interview basically was following marion's hobby of going every week to the STORE and enjoying the shopping experience of finding new movies. Plus watching everything.

he's got the means to buy anything he wants but has stated blu-ray is too much money for the 3-10 discs he'll buy every week.

a guy who has millions still does not have to waste thousands. I'm sure like many of his peers, they came from modest beginnings. Some still remember what it was like before they came into money.

your best option in Canada is have a US buddy set up an itunes account for you.

best time is when their credit card is expiring. Just keep toping up the account with Gift Cards.

TrueHD is just as good or PCM output...yes, I'm an earlier adopter and I have in player decoding that doesn't output/decode DTS-MA

I'll be happy enough with DD or the DTS-core though
I say put the centre channel in and not use voodoo science....

but as a bedroom system, this HTIB is just the ticket
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
