16 MPixel sensors are out for visible sensors, but not for IR ones (especially ones operating in the mid to long wave spectra). Pixels for IR focal plane array need to be much larger than the pixel number equivalent visible FPA, resulting in very low yield at fabrication.
I need this for my G1!
They should get dual HD recording, since Uverse now supports 2HD/2SD streams per household.
Actually, the 2HD/2SD limitation is somewhat restrictive. Just this past weekend, I wanted to watch the redsox game on TBSHD, and two olympics events on UniversalHD and NBCHD. I would have been nice if I was able to record two of the events and watch one live.

I didn't realize that the voice was Faraday's when I heard it; wish I could hear it again.

Any idea who the kids were crying in the background? Would be 30 years old right now.
This is cool for a slow moving vehicles like the packbot. For a fast vehicle (like your car or aerial vehicles), having remote user-in-the-loop control is not practical because of inherent long latencies would lead to unstable feedback control loops in most cases.
Any idea of the number of pixels on a display like this?
Look what you can expect to come out on Blu-ray for the 2008 Holidays:

Iron Man
Indiana Jones
The Dark Knight
Narnia
(Incredible Hulk, X-Files, etc)

The first three could really drive holiday adoption of Blu-ray this year.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
