You're comparing two different memory upgrades. The Mac Mini $100 upgrade is going from 2GB to 4GB. The iMac $1000 upgrade is going from 4GB to 8GB. The same upgrade from Crucial is $780, so at $1000, it is still over priced. 4GB DDR3 SODIMMs really are that expensive (for now)
What's really great is that the picture they have of the guy next to the 52b cabinet is actually from an Ars Technica article from December 2006. The picture is captioned in the article as being "Wheaton's Gary Wright standing next to a 52b cabinet". As in Wheaton, IL, NOT Nashville, TN, as the flier states

"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
