Gee, that commercial is really creepy! Whats with all the high-pitched wailing (is that supposed to be singing?) The sound is seriously deranged!
Looks nice, but can it play video games?
My kids sure would like one in any case.
I have way to many passwords to remember them all. However, this device would not work. Opps, it slipped out of my pocket as I lean over. If that doesn't kill it. How about someone helps to pick it up...step...crack...oops, sorry.
Then its time for my best Kirk imitation. Looking up, arms spread wide..NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Yep, I have better things to spend thirty dollars on.
Who really cares at all. The last time I watched tv, it was the same old stuff that was on last year! I was ticked off when the government used this to get revenue. I was ticked off when my tax money was abused paying for cheap converter boxes to prop up the chinese economy. I was ticked off when I got jerked around by the small print (only good for 90 days - wt?). I was ticked off when they wouldn't cancel them after I sent in my letter after playing telephone tag with government employees who weren't even told what they were supposed to be doing. Now I won't be ticked off as the government spends even more of my tax money on worthless, annoying ads. It was expected anyway. Change the government way is no real change at all.
So, now i have my boxes (which were very diffucult to get as they were out of stock the minute they had some in). So, whats it all for? The same old chanels and program garbage that were on before - ho hum. It's not as though tv is important anyway.
"While not likely the final design, it certainly follows Palm's recent packaging aesthetic"...

Dang, that's one ugly package!

Also, the guy who mentioned that 'Pre' is not a good name is right on the money. Its not even a complete word, let alone as good as some random letters followed by a few digits.
So where is the camera? If this can't do video conferencing, then having that big screen is worthless.
Nice. i sure wish the DS had tv out. It does have a nice touch screen and browsers. Don't know how they stack up to the touch but it sure has better video games. Nintendo really missed out on a wider market but I guess it would have cost too much to put more features in one item.
Hey, i resemble that remark!
I just got my $40 x 2 government rebates for digital to analog converter boxes and picked up 2 and paid some tax for them. They give a clear picture on my analog tv (looks like dvd to me). When looking at the hdtvs in the store, they all look ok (the ones that aren't blurry), just like dvd pictures to me. More cycles per second do not impress me. My pc is set at greater than HD resolution - lets go for 2048p on the tv, then i'll be impressed ... I won't care, but I will be impressed :)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
