The Gefen is probably a good product for the home install.

The Extron is a lot more feature loaded and designed for professional installations. I have just been looking for a WUXGA scaler and this is going to fit my need well, even has RS-232. I just don't see why it has HDMI, as opposed to DVI-D which has screws to keep it from coming loose.
This sucks! I am getting really annoyed with netflix. Things that I use are just disappearing. First is was HD-DVD (not that I fault them), now the profiles, next they are planning on raising the price for blu-ray users too. I wish they would consider adding to the user experience in stead of taking away from it! "Improve the web Netflix site" my arse!
So... this is just for satellite Direct TV type folk.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
