Could this be in preparation of the olympics? They have the olympics interactive deal up and running and moved the NBC family of networks into special slots in the 70's to group them all together. CNBC and USA definitely will be carrying olympic events... the only biggie missing in HD on uverse carrying is MSNBC.
This will make me very happy if it's true because it'll at least double that amount of olympic coverage in HD on uverse.
I love the buried OTA channels that the providers don't carry... the __-2's, __-3's, etc... that have like 24-7 local news, 24-7 radar/weather, etc. For us, our PBS has 3 or 4 subchannels with different things on so that's cool. The only thing now is the OTA's aren't available to me while I use Uverse, where the OTA's could be run in through the DirecTV receivers.
I grew up in SA and always had time warner (once they bought out Paragon cable many years ago) and maybe all the HD channels are to make up for the HORRIBLY crappy customer service. I've had a few different providers in a few different locations - and TWC-San Antonio takes the crappiness cake for sure (just slightly ahead of TWC-Austin).
That would mean some of the homes would already have it... that would be awesome if it is though. When I talked to a sales person last week, the ETA for WHDVR was still a general Fall timeframe. I'm happy enough with the 2/2 for now, the WHDVR will just be gravy.
Just a follow up - the 2/2 was waiting for me when I got home according to the system info screen but I had to reset all the STB's to get it to work (reseting the hub did nothing). My bandwidth stayed 20.9 though and I asked AT&T about it and said there was no need for an increase to 29.9.
@michael - I used both streams and ran an internet speed test and it was right where it should be.
I also asked about the household-wide DVR system and the sales guy still said Fall 08 for the ETA.
Sorry for the double... I did just call uverse sales and they activated the second stream for me - no problems. I'm not at home to confirm this though, but hopefully everything will be good to go by the time I'm home this evening.
Good to know about the calling... I tried reseting the set top box before I was out the door for work but that didn't work. I figured I would try the hub and then call when I got home but guess I can skip right to the calling. Is it something I can call and not be at home to mess with the system to get accomplished?
I live in Austin, TX (a suburb, Round Rock technically - put it's all served by the Austin part of AT&T) and my Uverse is still 3/1 as of this morning.

"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
