In a way it serves companies like Tom Tom right; rather than develop their offerings to improve (for example) the speed and quality of information displayed (no more straight line roads!), or look at ways of increasing battery life so we don't have to suffer the ugliness of a cable coming from your windscreen to your cigarette lighter socket, all Tom Tom wanted to do was bring out new model after model that obviously did nothing more than the previous version, just changed its name and increased its price. Sure, we got added traffic information; but at a subscription cost - sorry, but I dont want to update my device for something that does the same thing but costs another £100 plus monthly/yearly subscription to utilise its new feature(s).

I think there will always be a place for these devices in our cars (because sometimes a dedicated device is better than faffing about with other converged devices) until manufacturers start building them into cars; but until then, the likes of Tom Tom need to go back to basics and give us the best PND they can at a decent price. As I said, priorities for me are battery life, ease of use (Tom Tom is good but could be better!) and I'd love a better graphical display (real bends in roads!) ... and of course a reduced price, not £100 more than the previous model it replaced!
Sorry, but I really cant see the benefits of a PSP Go over the iPhone or, for those not wishing to engage in a contract, an iPod touch?

I wont harp on with a product v's product comparison and yes, Im sure they're are some people who'd prefer the Sony; but not at that price (when it does less than the touch) and not at that level of specification. If you really want true gaming portability, I'd stick to an iphone/touch and perhaps a PSP3000 or DS.
Hey, if it helps competition wise Im all for it! Maybe now I can go to O2 direct and re-negotiate my new contract based on Tesco prices ... other than snob value (i.e. tesco selling iPhones) there are only positives to be had by the end user!

Don't forget snobs, Apple changed its market approach many years ago when it retail'fied its product line (to the detriment of innovation, quality and specific customer sector) - today Apple really is a competitor to everyone else, not the exclusive brand it once was.

Wonder if the Apple stores will now start selling cereals, bread, fruit and veg (starting with apples and pears of course!)
I can see a few 'dudes' getting shot on this mean machine downtown NYC!
And while the staff were f*****g about like this, who exactly were serving the customers!!!! (And what exactly were they buying?)
Jesus, how fu****g embarrassing!!!! Its laughable that MS are trying so desperately to be cooler than Apple that they just end up being cringe worthy!

When I go to an Apple store I want good advice and good service - not f******g dancing morons ... its a shop, not college fraternity bar and if worked there I wouldn't lower myself. Bet it frightens off a lot of people - straight into an Apple store ... what next, dancing petrol attendants and security guards!
How much!!!!

Sorry, but once again, when you look at the Mac offering, considering the quality, sexiness, re-sale value and included software (iLife suite) etc, the Dells a bit of a looser! They even charge more for a different colour lid ... laughable! In fact, with extra cost for all components, anyone who chooses this over an iMac is crazy - thats a whole computer in the screen, better specced, better priced ... sorry Dell ... FAIL!!!!
Amazing ... Tom Tom try to make an ailing package look more attractive (by the addition of crappy covers granted!) but then charge you more for the pleasure ... nice one guys!

By the way; I have a Volkswagen Golf with free upgrade to Ferrari F355 for sale at £180,000 if anyones interested?
For all those who have already purchased the non dock included software, wouldn't it be great if you could eBay it! Come to think of it (and heres opening up a new can of worms) ... wouldn't it be great if you could sell your apps as people do software on eBay!!!!
To be honest, I couldn't really care anymore!

We've seen Apple bulls**t about not putting camera's in the iPod touch because it wouldn't be 'cost effective' (yeah, and thats why you prepped it for one then isn't it!), and say their not interested in the netbook market; and not care about taking Apple TV forward (so much for Apple innovation!!!!) ... so lets just leave them to get on with whatever they want - Im sure they will regardless of what we say and think!

I don't know; something happened at Apple ... they got lazy, relied to much upon existing success to the detriment of innovative new products!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
