I hate the PIP as well and consider it a spoiler window. The ONLY thing I could see it useful for is to setup a recording of some show I come across while the whole family is watching and want to keep watching the initial show. PIP is definitely not on my list if things I want in a DVR.

Now the things I would want
pay over 3 monthly installments
streaming MRV so no copy needed and no DRM in the way
flexible integration with online streaming services so I can configure it to get what I want
ability to setup a scrolling ticker with info I can use - like weather, caller ID or news and sports
I have had netflix for some time and been waiting to upgrade to High def DVD content. Sicne I can rent Blu RAy DVDs from Netflix and then also stream movies (not everything needs HD) thisi s the component for me. Would actually replace my ToshiVo RS TX20 in the Living room.

I am waiting though for a tru2way HDTV before I replace my Toshiba SD tube TV so will also wait for the reviews and the price to go under 300$
Perhaps NBC and others could exploit TiVo to charge for commercial free shows to be downloaded direct to your TiVo. I bet they would be surprised at how many more viewers they get this way vs the number of viewers of downloaded video they loose by trying legal action against a technology that is proving very useful to TiVo owners.

and adding in a tool to take video and turn it into TiVo compliant format ALONG WITH METADATA so the TiVo can folder it and so forth would be my feedback on the next step to take

"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
