This wireless-HD has some real issues with it that I haven't seen resolved

1) the cost - it's been introduced on high-end TVs to "eliminate wires", inflating the price for people who have already run cables.

2) security - what measures are in place to prevent "neighbors" from viewing your viewing or pc display? Note that electronic surveillance used to be able to pick up and record CRT signals.

3) RF traffic - why is this using the 5ghz band? Wifi is starting to return to 5ghz because 2.4 ghz is *completely* saturated in some dense areas. In the future, it's may not have enough bandwidth to perform adequately
This panny is the only one that's a true successor to the Pioneers. If it were a lot cheaper, it would be a better TV than the remaining Pios because of it's efficiency and brightness levels.
This really pisses me off. I own both a 360 and a PS3 and like the PS3 far, FAR better. I hate the 360's design (hardware and software) and the only reason I own it is because of the exclusive games --- I just have to tolerate that idiotic, ugly, counterintuitive controller and software in order to play them.

So basically, the 360 is successful ONLY because MS has made exclusive deals for it. This is so typical of them; do a piss-poor job and then make up for it with dubious strategy.

I have netflix, and sometimes watch on the PC. I'd prefer to watch on the PS3. But after their BD price increase, and now this, I'm seriously thinking of dumping them. I do NOT want to support companies that operate this way. As screwed up as sony is themselves, they did a beautiful job on the PS3 in every regard.

One obvious question -- when is this fab supposed to begin actual production?
Why did the panasonic deal fall apart?
Please, I really need one of these!
Unlike 1.3, 1.4 shouldn't make you worried that yuo're going to miss something truly important. Go ahead and buy.
HDMI is becoming ever more convoluted with these overly specific features that serve the electronics manufacturers and not the standard. For example, ethernet is an absurd addition to the standard, it will only cause problems and confusion. 3d would be worthwhile if there was a single standard. Audio pass-back is a silly workaround for the problems imposed by HDCP in the first place.
Good god, yes. I love and cannot afford thiel
As an owner of OCZ memory, I deserve to win.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
