There shouldn't be a comma after "Blu-ray would win," either, but I think that's fourth grade grammar... maybe in another year we'll see some improvements? :-)
In math class today, we learned that 7 *is* less than 30!
Your credibility went out the window with your failure to spell "your" correctly.
I've had a 15" HP laptop for over three years now that's 1920x1200. I had to browse their "business" options to get it, but the point is, it's been readily available for ages.
My 15" HP laptop has a 1920x1200 screen - and I've had it for three years. Apple is waaay behind in the resolution game.
"Beyond the fact that this thing resembles a decade-old handheld cassette recorder with a seven-inch HD display flanked on top..."

Maybe that's because it *is* a cassette recorder with a 7" display on top? What else should it look like?

"...it enables users to watch their HDV / miniDV tapes on the go, which isn't likely to entice you unless you shoot for a living."

It's probably a safe bet that Sony is putting out HDV products for - surprise - people who shoot on HDV. I'm not a fan of their company lately and one can discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of HDV all day long, but really, this article just comes off as uninformed (the screen isn't HD-res) and petty (honestly, do you really care what your video deck looks like?

This isn't a product aimed at a casual consumer, nor is it meant to be put on a display shelf next to the beanie babies. Let's just focus on the tech and leave the subjective whinings to yourselves, okay Engadget?
They're better than good enough.

Try www.red.com for 4K CMOS in action (and rave reviews from hugely prominent cinematographers all over the world).
Just two more cents. :) While it's appropriate that the word "good" has been crossed out in the original article, the sentence that now remains doesn't make sense. "Achieving DOF is not easy with today's DV cameras," is inaccurate, because every shot has DOF; some just have smaller ranges than others. DOF is merely the amount of the shot that is in focus; whether or not everything is in focus or only a single point of the image is in focus, they all have a working DOF. What I think the original poster means to say is that acheiving *shallow* DOF is not easy with today's DV cameras. This would be correct.
"They cover everything from the myth that Blu-ray has better image quality then HD DVD to Blu-ray supports lossless audio where HD DVD does not."

"Than" has an a, not an e.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
