I love David Milch. Such a witty and clever man... some of the very best writing of our time is by this guy. Damn!
Devices like the Apple TV have existed for years. What makes it different of course is the fact that it ties directly into all the iApps. Here's the problem though. It doesn't play any type of video file except MPEG4. That means no streaming DVDs, no streaming HD .ts files and no streaming Divx/XviD. No nothing.

If you feel like being pigeon holed into MPEG4 when 90% of the downloadable content IS NOT MPEG4, the Apple TV is probably the right choice for you. However, since transcoding videos into MPEG 4 takes hours, I think I'll pass on this one for now.

I would like to add that I wrote about Prison Break dying a painful death a few months ago.

So sad when season 1 was so damn good.

*sigh*
Heh, agreed. Odyssee 5 was amazing and had such huge potential to rock.... if only they hadn't canceled it.

It's nice to see another Huff fan out there, I thought I was the only one who thought that show was downright amazing.

C. Hall is a fantastic actor and while he was splendid in SFU, he was never really given the kind of character to let him really explore his acting abilities like he can in Dexter. Fantastic.
I am betting this will be simply just more of an adult drama. Like the previous coment said, less things targeted at kids and more grown up storylines. Battlestar _is_ a good example of that--certainly an adult scifi drama.
For any usenet folks, newzbin.com already has the first episode indexed as well... more will follow no doubt!
Opera is a kick ass browser it just doesn't feel native to OS X. On Windows it's great.

It still works as good as any native Aqua app, no complaints in that regard. I sometimes turn to it just for fun but has never enticed me enough to stop usng Safari all together.
>> any device that is that loud can't be that enjoyable to watch movies on.

I use my Xbox 360 as my primary device fo rwatching ALL TV and ALL movies. I never notice it... the fans don't really kick in until you are playing a game.

>> We also find it hard to believe that a 6GB version could look as good as the 30GB version on HD DVD

>> >> All Xbox Live Marketplace (XBLM) content is encoded at 720p using the VC-1 codec. HD DVD is encoded at 1080p using the VC-1 codec.

Exactly, and Batman Begins (for example) is only 12mbps 1080p. So, 6mbps should look damn decent at 720p as long as they do a decent job of encoding.
What's with the audio sync issues?
The versions that aired on Movie Central HD last year were all native OAR and real HD transfers. I would assume the same for TNT this year...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
