@Eric er, NOT apply. :P
Not all desktops. Only Windows XP, Vista and 700 desktops. UNIX, Mac and Linux users need to apply.
If I can upgrade the Lifetime account I have (for $300 would be okay) on my current TiVO HD, then I'll consider it. Otherwise, it wears out and I'll have had my last TiVO. I'm hoping they do the few months' window like they did with the TiVO HD. I don't mind paying that amount, but no monthly subscriptions for me that are more expensive than the cable company!
All I can say is ouch! How do you sit to drive?
@Ben

Times are tough, but who's got the time to maybe increase the revenue possibilities of the links? Uh, let's see...

Check out how the Blu-ray fansite does it...

Good questions, but we the public own the airwaves. If they take this from us, the MUST give us free access to at least the broadcasts equivalent of content.
Verizon did it for one reason and one reason only. To stem the bleeding from people defecting to go to the iPhone after someone buys one of their phones and realizes what crap they are in comparison. (Note, the iPhone is far from perfect, just farther from junk than the rest.)

Verizon is evil and I will NEVER use them.
Kudos to Engadget for posting a thoughtful piece by someone not blinded by the Microsoft astroturfing machine like Enderle and Thurrott.

I don't always agree with MG, but his piece is very close to the mark. The Apple haters can't stand when reality cuts through the BS of their articles of faith and points out that the competition simply has not comprehended what they are up against when they take on Apple.

We iPhone users are hope it's soon. Push Apple to make the iPhone even better, and to fix the approval system for apps. But throw things open so that hackers and malware ruins the user experience? No way. I'd rather go back to the walled garden of my Blackberry's Internet on T-Mobile first.
Doesn't that crazy woman get enough attention already? Please, keep her in the domain of porn, where she actually contributes something to the raising of standards.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
