@dfreeindy

Yes, because the traffic light bulbs have reflectors to spread out the light from the incandescent bulb....

Wait, why are there shields again?
@dirtballrotten

I dumped comcast when I found out that U-verse was faster and cheaper. Satellite has more HD than comcast, and they were forced to advertise more "HD choices" as an underhanded way of trying to look better than satellite. Comcast is overpriced and has less content compared to the competition and I only had it because my last place couldn't get DSL, so I ended up paying double for high-speed internet thanks to their dumpy overpriced selection in a monopoly market.

Good riddance.

"How is reducing the size of the government going to allow the population to check corporate power?"

Because the government gave Comcast local monopolies. Reducing the size of government in the right way would cut their local monopoly base. If the government would not hand out monopolies and restrict other businesses from competing, we would be a lot better off.
They own USA and SciFi too you know.
You mean like http://www.liti3d.com/ ?
With the amount of apps becoming WiFi-only, what is the point of a data-plan AT&T?
LTE is a whole new way to think about cell phone service. There is no voice separated from text separated from data. Everything is data running on the the same network. Furthermore, LTE uses lower frequencies with huge bandwidth--meaning you can much more easily get fast signals through walls indoors. I would not be surprised if verizon offered free unlimited data/texts with every LTE plan, and advertised incredible speeds even in underground bunkers.
You can still read a memristor without changing its resistance by measuring the the change in voltage across the memristor using a small alternating current.

Think of a memristor like a box. You have to open the box to put stuff in the box and take stuff out, but you only have to shake it to know how much stuff is inside.
It's not from Escape from Monkey Island or TellTale's Tales of Monkey Island. It's from the Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition, which is a screen for screen remake of the original Secret of Monkey Island game.
You're forgetting the $500 computer between the $20 webcam and the $30 router.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
