I am so friggin pissed about this! I have been waiting patiently for this new unit to come out. I'm getting really tired of Directv. Bottom line is; Directv DVR sucks and Tivo rules!

My Kids would love Horton and my wife and I would Love the others, especially Dark Knight. Santa forgot to bring that one for me this year.....even though I hinted like crazy. Please be my Santa!! My Engadgasanta! Ok, this is weird now.

Just came back after a few years myself. I hope they keep those prices down.

Trust me, Tivo IS the best! I was going to place the call to DirecTV to cancel service and go with Tivo friendly Time Warner the same day they announced this news. I'm now going to stay with DirecTV and wait till they release this new DirecTivo unit in late 2009. I've had three personal friends in three different households leave Directv because they were tired of their sluggish DVR.

"1 point 21 jigawatts!!. What the hell's a jigawatt?!"
