Plasma rules and LCD drooles and is always trying to perform like a Plasma. It ain't gonna happen. Panasonic Rocks and Kuro we will miss you.
I put this TV out on display in our store. The 1" thick looks great. Silver finish is ok. But PQ is amazing. i put Dark Knight on bluray on it. and the detail was superb. Deep deep blacks. Rf remote is nice. for best wireless signal results, have the 2 sending units facing each other. We had them facing the same way. and it worked 95% of the time. but then again. we have tonnes of wireless devices going on in our store. so i'm impressed with how well it worked.
actually the 2nd last firmware update on 2009/2/9 fixed Stability of decoding for HD audio, etc.
this latest firmware update on 2009/3/31 fixed BD-V Playability.
Pany is definatly the best at keeping their firmware updating. I mean their still issuing firmware updates for there DMP-BD30 and BD50 models. And they even already have firmware out for their latest 60 and 80 model players which mostly havn't arrived in stores yet.
I'm a salesman at a local custom home audio/video store. While i never Push bluray on anyone. Bluray sells itself. I mean once a customer looks at tv with bluray, then one with a upconverted dvd player. It's pretty much a no brainer. I mean you can get a bluray player for the same price as a quality upconverting dvd player. And once customers find out they can still play their dvd's and they will be upconverted through the bluray player as well. Their sold. While i'll admit, very rarely do customers actually care about the BD-live features. The picture quality and sound is enough in itself. i've probubly sold 50 bluray players in the last 6 months.
no way i'm shopping any other brands. Now that pioneer is gone. Pany is number 1 in terms of quality. I mean if you go to bestbuy, they usually have the lowest price around and almost all independant custom stores will match prices. So seriously suport your local economy. I think i like this move.
Why do manuels for toasters say, "Do not put hand in toaster while toaster is on". Becuase people are stupid. They're just covering thier buts like every other company.
This TV looks sweet. Wireless HD is cool. I work at a Custom Electronics retailer and i'm looking forward to seeing this one when it comes in. i'm also looking forward to the V10 and G10 models which are only 2" thick just minus the wireless part. Prices will be around the same as the PZ800 and PZ850 series. (i've seen the panasonic price list). As Far as LCD vs. Plasma, i've sold both Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Pionner Elite, and Hitachi. And i prefer plasma waaaaaay over LCD. the whole 120HZ and now 240Hz, truthfully i can't stand them. it looks like somones got their finger stuff on the fastforward button. some people like it, but i can't stand it. If you look at the pro reveiws of these tv's, the reveiwers turn theses features off when they rank them, becuase they can't stand it either. And we sell more Panasonic plasma's than anything else in the store. It's sad to see Pionner go, but Panna is close to the same quality for a lot less price. If panasonic ever dropped out of plasma, it will be a sad day indeed.
bluray is awsome, both picture and sound. I havent watched a dvd since i've gotten bluray. Just want more popular catalog titles to come out soon. ex: Lord of the Rings (i've heard this year). Star wars. Jurasic Park series, and the pixar movies, to name a few.
Any pricing details on these 2? or release dates?

"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
