I want one of these Ion-packed 12-inchers with a 6-cell battery for $400, but I know it's not gonna happen... :(
It's rated at 5000 sq ft, which is why I'd really love to know what kind of throughput this thing has.
If your phone is wi-fi compatible, it's the same effect for browsing the web, but not for the actual phone functions (like calling or texting).
So what's the range of these things? If I have a 5-acre lot, will it blanket the whole thing? If my school is a quarter-mile away, will it be covered? A mile away?

Well, I'm something of a music video buff and I archive music videos. The .vobs straight off the DVD are the highest quality available for the overwhelming majority of stuff whether you choose to believe it or not.
The youtube videos that are "HD" are virtually never actual HD. 99.9% of music videos are not shot in HD and the highest quality available is via promo dvd.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
