Have you tried remapping the comm skip buttons to something other than left and right. If that does not resolve the problem. You could use Microsoft's tool to remove the entire addin installation and reinstall and see if that works.

Ben,

A little off topic here, but I noticed in your screen shot that you have a D:\to be converted folder in your watched file directory. Have you found a way to have the file watcher execute separate commands on individual folders.

For Example: the Recorded TV directory is watched for new files to be converted to DVRMS and then replaces in the Recorded directory automatically. I want the File watcher to watch my "to be converted directory and execute the Convert to DVRMS and move to Movie folder" command. So in essence 1 file watcher 2 folders, 2 separate commands
I am using this process to converts my DVD's and it works beautifully. I am however, having a problem with my Xbox360 extender and playback of the file.

When I play the DVRms files back on a computer they play through just great. Unfortunately when I play them back on the extender, they get to random intervals with in the movie and then freeze up. Sometimes the audio continues to play and video freezes, sometimes both.

Any one else experiencing this as well.

Setup.

Movies Ripped via HandBrake to MKV
Converted and Placed in WHS Movies Directory.
Media Center Plays from the WHS through the Xbox360.

Thanks

Who is Donald Melonson? get to work Drawbaugh
Ben,

Knowing that Charlie Owen has left the media center team and being that Charlie was the biggest advocate of this kind of integration, do you think that this technology will ever make it to market?

You guys have talked a couple of times about the mess that is online delivery of content to the ten foot interface. I was wondering why content providers and cable providers don't just get together and offer sites like HULU as value added services that require a cable subscription in order to watch?

For example a model like ESPN 360 requiring a certain cable provider in order to watch. The cable distributors could strike a deal with NBC (In the case of HULU) to validate that the user is a cable subscriber or premium content subscriber (HBO) before they watch. Seems like it would solve a lot of problems.
Throw my hat into the ring for the HDMI giveaway please

Thanks
I'm stoked about this. Maybe I will be able to get a Pioneer elite receiver that has working HDMI-CEC for my Sharp 52" LCD.
Agreed, I think the only thing left for me would be webguide, and by the looks of the livemesh demo we have seen webguide wont be an issue much longer either.
I think this was just a matter of time. In the past with Broadcast Televeision, the consumption based model was relevant because their really was no alternative to where you consumed your entertainment. Today we live in a different market where over the air feeds are in HD and Cable programming can be viewed (All though a day late) on the internet, all of which are FREE. This level of choice in your entertainment leaves the cable companies defenseless when it comes to working over their customers.

This is not the case for most Internet service consumers. Their only leverage is to switch providers, which Time Warner is leveraging that their model will become an accepted business practice and in a short time the consumption based model will be industry wide, thus leaving the consumer defenseless and the cable company in a position to impose what ever outlandish fees they like to continue to grow that profit margin. Were going to pay it, because the internet is seen as a necessity for most, especially those reading this forum.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
