Even if this were available by 2015, there's no way in hell I'd be able to afford it, I'm sure. 1080p wandered into my price range not too long ago so this being anything reasonable in the next decade strikes me as far-fetched. Lasik, on the other hand, still seems plausible.

That's actually not true. There's a reason they don't use aluminum bats in the major leagues; they really do result in a greater hit with less effort.

In amateur baseball, both wooden and metal alloy bats are generally permitted. Recently there have been increasing numbers of "wooden bat leagues" and the trend back to wood seems to be accelerating due to safety concerns regarding the speed of a batted ball hit directly toward the pitcher's head. Metal (generally aluminum) alloy bats are generally regarded as being capable of hitting a ball faster and farther than wooden bats swung with the same power.
