So the new interface looks a lot like the old (no bad thing) except for the chapter search which is new. Nice to see they are still working on the technology side. As long as they keep working on licensing more and more content they should do pretty well with this. Apparently, the set-top boxes are selling faster than thay can source the hard drives too, not a bad sign.
They still make DVDs?
They still make Blu-ray?
Don't we have the jukebox model already with the likes of Netflix, Vudu, Apple or Amazon?

We'll a 'jukebox' that gets new stuff automatically, has no upfront software investment and allows you to only pay for what you watch?

I just don't see the point anymore in managed copy now that you get every thing on demand.
It happens less and less but yeah it's still pretty annoying. There are two major flaws with this business model: 1) If you looking for something to watch on a box with access to thousands of different titles you'll just choose something else, and chances are it will be from a different studio! Also 2) for some of these I've used netflix to just rent the disc. The money they see from the netflix rental is tiny compared to the cut they get from a HDX rental.

It's funny how hard some companies will try not to take your money sometimes :)

Haven't felt the need to buy a movie in any format since I invested in a Vudu Box. I can buy a film on DVD/Blu-ray or I get instant access to it anytime by renting it in HD (for a fraction of the purchase price). It's been nice not having hundreds of plastic cases filling up my lounge any more.
Pandora went live last night, just go to Vudu Labs, it's listed at the top.
Home Entertainment Device of the Year is the Vudu BX100. It's so far ahead of everything else on that list it's not even funny...
"this is the 1st i've heard of vudu's proprietary"hdx"format.if it truly comes close to rivaling blu-ray(e.g.1080p/24fps)..."

It does all HDX content is 1080p/24fps with full surround audio. It look better than some blu-ray encodes.

"...i can't begin to imagine the time it takes to download to a vudu."

About four hours.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
