If it has speakers and a tuner, isn't it a TV and not a monitor?
The configurability and upgradability of an HTPC can't be matched by a media streamer. There's always going to be some obscure codec or some file that's been encoded differently that won't work on a media streamer. Of course, it's the configurability of an HTPC that's also it's downside...too many options, settings, drivers, etc to deal with. Still, I went the HTPC route for maximum compatibilty.
Well, the logo in the corner looks sharp as a tack. The video...not so much.
One word: too expensive.

Pioneer may have the best tech, but people aren't going to buy at an exorbitant price. ESPECIALLY in this economy. OK, put a $1000 premium on those deepest blacks, but they were asking three times as much as a Panasonic or Samsung for the same size. They could have cleaned up if they wanted to, but they wanted to be perceived as the primo-top-of-the-line manufacturer of plasmas by going for the Marantz and McIntosh crowd and look where that got them. Sad.
It'll probably be like what Funimation is doing for the DVD releases...rescanning the original film elements and making the compromise of actually getting more image on the sides while losing a little on the top and bottom.
Hi, I'm Seth Rogen and strangely enough I play a big fat schlub in this movie. I know it's a stretch for me as an actor, but I think you'll see I'm up to the task.
Or you're insane. This is America we're talking about.
I've requested two $40 coupon cards and promptly lost them upon receipt. Do I have any recourse in this case or do I just deserve a head slap?
And here I just posted comments on two other blogs asking where the progress was on this thing. Open mouth insert foot...and I'm happy to do it.
Looks rockin'. This device covers 90% of the reasons I built my HTPC. If it had media center extender capabilities then it would truly be a media wizard box.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
