Note that HD Radio is Hybrid Digital - not High Definition. The encoding is 96kbps, so perhaps not that much step up from those 96kbps mp3s after all...
and ZTE is not a carrier but a vendor. But everyone new that of course...
ops, only half my reply made it.

LTE has a promise of lower latency. I've seen latency lower than 10 ms being promised. That would be quite an achievement.

At the time - '97/'98 the Divx debacle probably delayed the DVD introduction with a year or so, as some studios, most notably Disney bought in to the Divx craze and it was not so clear how successful it would be. In retrospect I can agree that it appears silly. And in all honestly, I believe CC bailed in this market several years ago, so my "boycott" have been sustained in part from not having a local store anymore.
Sorry if I was not clear - I thought DIVX was a very bad idea and boycotted the store because of that.
In my opinion CC got what they deserved after the ridiculous DIVX fiasco. So it happened 12 years ago, but I never went in to CC after that!
"Knowing China, though, it'll cook up something the rest of the globe has no interest in for the sake of saving on licensing fees".

Sounds like China and the USA have the same approach; rest of the world decided on DVB, US on ATSC and we are still playing catch-up on the wireless side due to major players picking CDMA over GSM.
The PS3 plays m2ts files, but I have not been able to get subtitles to play. With the PCH I can play back the m2ts file and sub titles will be displayed if I have an external sub file in the same directory with the same file name as the m2ts file.
Does anyone know how the TViX handles subtitles in m2ts files?

"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
