Elgato sells refurbished 500s for $199 on their site. I have one and it works beautifully.
A bunch of (full) "Frontline" episodes are available on the PBS website, to start. They're actually known for pro-actively offering content online. Have you even checked their site out, jo jo? And I assume you're sure their budget allows for the massive expense of hosting "all it's archives"? Because, the last time I checked they were stretched pretty thin. One reason is that they're not actually allowed to "make a buck" as you so keenly suggest. Your position seems more than a little uninformed.
FYI: I picked up the 880 for $180 shipped on Ebay and it's worth every penny. Harmony blows all of the other options I tried away (Sony, Pronto, et al).
I've always wondered...do they have to use a particular type of chocolate to keep it flowing? My fantasy includes Ghirardelli but imagine there are precious few specific chocolates. How was the quality?
$30k and only a 1-year subscription to XM? That's is an amazingly beautiful detail! Domino's is apparently trying to turn a sweet little profit with this POS. I hope there's a follow-up about the buyer...or lack thereof.
Sony's website lists the product as "no longer available", but here is a Google cache of the original product page: http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:sJNSRUFPpA4J:www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start%3FCategoryName%3Dtvhav_HDDVRs%26ProductSKU%3DDHGHDD250%26TabName%3Dfeature%26var2%3D+DHG-HDD250+site:http://www.sonystyle.com&hl=en&client=safari
The reason it's not on Sony's site is because it's been discontinued. "First Look" may be a little misleading for a unit released almost 12 months ago. I looked pretty hard at this model as it's really the only HDTV "Tivo" option short of doing business with cable/satellite or constructing a home media center. Unfortunately, there are are WAY too many negative comments spread across the web for an item that I couldn't find for less than $500...Google has very little good to say about this model. As a Mac user, EyeTV 500 + Linkplayer 2 offer me a much more stable HDTV recording and playback options.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
