It was a shitty PC with 256 MB of ram and software based video. So yeah, i dunno what low res movies you were watching on there that you couldnt watch from the XMB.

This feature was a great idea on paper, but Sony basically crippled the graphics capabilities making linux near useless for running things like emulators and media players.
